Millions of Windows 98 users get officially hung out to dry today, July 11.

Microsoft has warned those cheapskates that from today there will be NO HELP over the phones for Windows 98 problems. There will also be no more security updates or fixes. The products affected by the support shut down include Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, and Windows Me (Millennium Edition).

I mean, how dare those millions of users – 70 million according to IDC - continue to use a stable Microsoft operating system? Don’t they know Microsoft has shareholders to protect? Millions of them.
